John Manning earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Indiana State University in 1974 and a Masters in Management from Oakland City University in 2007. He has worked extensively in health care administration and health care building projects. Most recently he was administrator in charge of The Beacon Project/Good Samaritan Hospital. He developed criteria to rank potential general contractors on the project and ultimately was administrator in charge of general contractor contracts and architectural contracts on the project. He also was owner lead on day to day project oversight from ground-breaking in 2011 to project completion in 2015. The Beacon Project construction cost was $109,000,000 excluding furnishings. The project included a 5-story inpatient tower, renovation of an existing 7- story inpatient tower and a new energy center which services the entire campus. John has 24 years military experience with tours to Viet Nam in 1971 and to Iraq in 2006, John has served on numerous not for profit board in Knox County Indiana and serves as an Elder at Freelandville Christian Church in Freelandville, Indiana. John has served on Knox County Chamber of Commerce and most recently serves on the Southwest Indiana Chapter of Purple Heart Homes. He also serves as a Reserve Deputy for Knox County Sheriff Department. John is married to Shara, has three children all of whom are out on their own from Texas to Indiana. John has been a multiple marathon participant over the years and stays active playing golf.
